Mud Run received some much needed attention this morning.

Is this why the water quality around our booms on Mud Run has recently degraded? Our trash booms serve more than to collect trash entering a waterway. Sean Blake suggested we go check out the dried up pool just south of the Nature Center off the towpath. 5 tires/wheels (dang those things were heavy!) and a couple bags of trash. Scariest part of the day, almost didn’t make it back home for Browns kickoff!!!

Thanks to the three men I saw clearing the brush along the lake’s edge this morning. I missed the opportunity to talk with them but the results of their efforts are evident! Picked up 22 pounds of trash which isn’t bad considering the long weekend.
Mud Run… River Guardians Ohio first boom location
This stretch collects a lot of trash before it gets lost in Tuscarawas, however, the water quality seems to be degrading since last year this time. We are working with agencies to figure this out and turn it back around.
