Mud Run, our very first boom!

This watershed is near and dear to my heart as it is where the experiment began. It is also a challenge and a great opportunity to study and try to correct our urban impact on hidden watersheds. This creek dumps into the Tuscarawas just a little downstream from our booms and why it is so important to capture trash and identify pollution because once it gets past this checkpoint, it is on course to damage everything on its way to The Gulf.

Because Akron had built itself as an industrial power back in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the infrastructures that powered and moved waste from the same was and is the water. We are working hard to be part of the undoing of that through our hard work and education. (Not the industrial power, just the effects of that on our watersheds).

We, as a small group, are able to take action quicker and be somewhat more creative on solutions and mitigation as evidenced in much of our work, but, we can follow through with any of this only with the partnerships of others. Our thanks to all.

Note: If you happen to have a sit on kayak or two that you would be interested in rehoming, we are in need for some of the work we are doing.
