Mud Run received some much needed attention this morning.
Little over 100 pounds today. The video and my narration is about an hour and a half of time condensed down to 3 min. Even in my younger days I could not move like this.

We have mentioned and shown a few times one of our big goals. The removal of phragmites along the creek so we can better access and control the trash coming into the area and to better monitor pollution entering the watershed from the storm sewer outfall. In this short snip, you can see Johnny cutting…
Hidden under the snow is a fair amount of trash in the booms. Will likely be hitting that either Monday or Tuesday morning. The rainbow and discoloration is petroleum pollution most likely from our roads and parking lots all of which dump onto storm sewers and all of which dump into our waterways. There are…
The area in this video is the headwaters of a couple storm sewer outfalls. Every time it rains, trash pours in and for the past few months, we have been catching and removing it right here. “The Trash Stops Here!” In addition, we have started the long hard process of removing the phragmites where we…

Over the past year I have witnessed the dreams of a few folks dedicated to giving back blossoming into a reality….
You may have noticed that we have been laying low the past several weeks and now I am able to announce why. As of Dec 9, 2025 we officially changed our name to River Guardians Ohio. While we had done our due diligence when registering our old name, we didn’t dig deep enough. We received…
I have not put out many posts recently as there have been many administrative things to fill my plate. Please know though, we are always out there on the waterways, cleaning, monitoring, recording, reporting, sharing, collaborating and being the best stewards we can be. A very special THANK YOU to all those that work beside…
She is a resident that is passionate about the neighborhood going all the way back to her childhood, playing in the woods and water while exploring the trails around her home, and wants to see the same for her children and grandchildren. We are very excited to call her a friend. We pulled about 63…
On our way to the canal boom south of Summit Lake, we ran into Carol and Kim and shared what we have been doing on this and other watersheds. 33 pounds out of this boom isn’t a bad haul and picked up another 20 at booms on the east side of the lake. Good way…
