Folks, this is what James Carnahan aka Opa Runs looks like after a morning of checking and cleaning out booms in the river! HA!

He is the Ohio Champion! Working hard down at Cordova to open up the waterway for both the animals and our access to be able to capture the trash.
Because moving water is ever changing, we need to adjust. Dave and I were talking after the move how full of trash this area was last year when we started this. Now, we almost always see fish and wildlife here. Does make us feel good.
This is the Canal Boom on the south side of Summit Lake. You will note the oil sheen on the water. It did not persist once we removed the trash. There were a couple bottles of petroleum products that were the probable source.
We appreciate the efforts of Akron Services Department in clearing access to the site! Close to 100 pounds today and well over a ton so far at this site has been removed. We will be deploying another boom on Summit Lake this Monday morning at the end of IRA Ave. If anyone is interested in…
It has been a crazy week of obligations. With that, I apologies for no pics or videos that I hoped to get out. I plan to sit at the computer this weekend and get some edited. Should be out on the bike around Summit Lake in the morning too.
49 pounds of trash in 4 bags isn’t too bad for a 40 degree day in winter and this view was my reward!
