Had to pull out “the guns” for 253 pounds of trash this morning that made it downstream on Mud Run when our booms blew out from the flooding. (We repaired them yesterday).
We do have some fun and really appreciate the waves and words of encouragement from folks passing by. No original source of the oil found, however, OEPA did clean up where it was collecting upstream at a trash dam (other side of Waterloo rd).
What we are seeing here is the residual. Fire department placed the soft booms with our trash booms to collect that. (Some placement adjustment is in order and being handled). Sorry for the late update, flu had knocked me on my can.

This is the Canal Boom on the south side of Summit Lake. You will note the oil sheen on the water. It did not persist once we removed the trash. There were a couple bottles of petroleum products that were the probable source.
