Reminder why we are working so hard to bring a real fix to the trash issue on Summit Lake.
River Guardians Ohio’s efforts along with so many others is slowly taking things from trash to treasure. Can you even see the babies in the left photo from yesterday? Same ducks, same day, same place!

A lot of the trash that ends up in our waterways doesn’t start there.
It starts along roadsides, curbs, and overgrown edges where it builds up over time. After vegetation was cleared in this area, a huge amount of hidden litter was exposed. In roughly 1,000 square feet, we pulled 105 pounds of trash in just one cleanup. And this stretch is uphill from the Little Cuyahoga, meaning a…

So honored to have presented what the River Guardians Ohio are doing in our area to the team of professionals that make up the Summit Soil and Water Conservation District.
Over the past year we have worked with them on several projects and looking forward to many more opportunities to share in our efforts to improve Ohio’s waterways!

After the boat coming out of Summit Lake yesterday, the 40ish pounds of trash hauled out today seems small but it all adds up.
