Our favorite activity as River Guardians Ohio is spending the day with our youth.
Thursday we spent time with an amazing group of middle schoolers participating in Camp Explore sponsored by TomTod Ideas at the United Methodist Church in Canton. We wandered over to the Canton Museum of Art for an exhibit of “The Art of Recology”. Theo was my guide here as he had visited this before and shared his inspiring insights with Opa.
During the walk from the church to the museum, pick sticks and buckets were employed and collected a good amount of trash in the 15 min walk and this just after the city had cleaned the area that morning.
We all returned to the church and the real fun began…two groups built two booms in record time. One in 12 min and the second in just under 12 min. These will be deployed on Nimishillen creek in the near future and their boom will be the very first in Canton and Stark County. The signed RGO Sign is so very special!!
