RiverKeepers Ohio has begun work on the lake and the old Young’s property. The past couple days we spent picking up the visible trash on the property, close to 800 pounds, and this is just the start.
Our partnership with the city of Akron is why we can take on this challenge. They are assisting us in several ways not the least of which is picking up the trash we collected here and the ongoing trash that will be removed from the lake and the booms we install. I was pleased to meet two of these professionals today when they arrived to collect our spoils. Zachary and Kharee filled their dump truck and shared words of support for our efforts. Our thanks to these two men and others I have not yet met.
