The Cordova project is more than just stopping and collecting trash before it pollutes a pond that is fed by this creek.

The area in this video is the headwaters of a couple storm sewer outfalls. Every time it rains, trash pours in and for the past few months, we have been catching and removing it right here. “The Trash Stops Here!”

In addition, we have started the long hard process of removing the phragmites where we have access as it has completely choked out native species in and around this watershed. When we first put in the boom earlier this year, we had to hack our way into and around just to assess what we had. Our goal now is to control what is invasive and replant with native. With our limited resources, this will be a very long process, however, no race was ever won in one step. I would like again to mention how honored we are to have Johnny Ringo as one of our River Guardians Ohio!
